From Midnight Trains to Mountain Trails: Our Sahyadri Weekend Escape
What started as a simple plan among friends turned into one of our most memorable Sahyadri adventures. On Friday night, we boarded the last train and reached Kasara around 3 AM, where a private vehicle took us to Vihir Village, the base village near Kunjargad. After freshening up, we began our trek through scenic mountain trails and lush landscapes. Reaching Kunjargad rewarded us with breathtaking views and a sense of accomplishment that only the mountains can offer. After descending and enjoying a well-deserved meal, we headed towards Hapatyacha Kada, our camping destination for the night. As the sun set, we divided responsibilities, set up our tents, shared stories, laughed together, and spent a peaceful night under a sky full of stars.
The next morning, we packed up camp and made our way to Kaladgad for another exciting trek. Though shorter, the climb offered equally stunning views of the surrounding Sahyadri ranges and reminded us that trekking is as much about the journey as the destination. After exploring the fort, we relaxed near a nearby pond, enjoying some carefree moments before beginning our journey home. With tired legs, dusty shoes, and countless memories captured in photographs, we returned with hearts full of gratitude. This weekend adventure wasn't just about trekking and camping—it was about friendship, nature, and the unforgettable experiences that come from stepping away from daily life and embracing the mountains. 🚩🏕️⛰️
